It's that time of year again, time for the school nightmares to commence. Strangely enough, my first one came the night before the first back to school flier. Intriguing, no? The wierdest part was that I was dreaming about high school, and I go to college. I drempt that I had transfered high schools at the very end of my senior year, I had probably a month left. So I got there and they didn't even give me a schedule for my classes, I got an outline of what most students take. I went to the first class on the list and after that one didn't know where else to go. Somehow I made it until lunch, and I didn't know anyone, so I ended up sitting with these little boys. The lunch was wierd too, there was only one choice, gigantic hamburgers with gross greasy fries. So I ended up not eating my lunch, and then a representative from their student council came up to me and informed me that she had forgotten to welcome me, but she was the welcomer student, and I got this little bag for being new (I have no idea why, so don't ask). Then one of my classes I had to drive to, and I ended up somehow floating in a lake in my car. So you could say it was not a good dream first day for me.
What has happened since I last blogged, well I went to my class at Itasca, and it was pretty good. I learned about the spacial distribution of ferns, the fitness of milkweed, and the vital statistics of an ecosystem(Lake Itasca). I met lots of new people, liked a majority of them. Met my roommate, who seems really cool, and has all the stuff I don't so it's going to work out very well I believe. I passed my "final exam" got a 76, but still it's passing, and I lost 14 points on studpid questions, they were just plain mean. The test was designed to scare us so that we study for tests in college, and it's a pass/fail class, so it doesn't really matter. Then I was headed home, and I had been driving in Itasca park for about 15 mins, and I didn't think it had taken that long to get in, but I kept driving, because I knew it hadn't been hard to get in. I ended up taking freaking Wilderness Drive which is a 15 mile long road where you can only go 20 mph and it's a one way. So I got stuck on that for about 1/2 an hour, and of course my cell phone didn't work in the park, and I wasn't even on the map. I was incredibly grumpy, and exhausted because I had gotten up at 5:30 that morning. I finally found an information station, and I went in and asked the lady how to get to my entrance and she said oh, you just go to the right, and I had already tried that, so I'm like fine, I'll do it myself. And did eventually find my way out. But I spend almost and extra hour in my car. I was not a happy camper.
I'm going to go get new glasses today. I've had the same frames since 7th grade, so it's definitly time for an upgrade. I probably should have known that the day I had to go home and take out my contacts and then scared Peter when he saw my glasses. Laurie is going to help me pick them out so we should do pretty well. And on that note, I'm out.
